Our backgrounds span derivatives trading, asset management, regulatory affairs, and institutional sales — which means we understand both the opportunity and the infrastructure needed to capture it responsibly. Alexis Fonteneau
Chief Executive Officer & Founder
Alexis founded Melanion Capital after years of leading derivative structuring desks at major European banks. He identified Bitcoin as a structural monetary shift early and spent three years navigating AMF regulatory requirements before launching Europe's first Bitcoin Equities UCITS ETF. His conviction is matched only by his patience for getting the structure right.
Claire Marchand
Chief Investment Officer
Claire oversees all investment decisions across the firm's ETF and alternative fund range. She previously managed a €1.2 billion dividend futures book at a Tier 1 investment bank and brings that same quantitative discipline to Melanion's portfolio construction. She holds a Masters in Financial Mathematics from École Polytechnique.
Tobias Reinhardt
Head of Institutional Relations
Tobias leads Melanion's relationships with institutional clients across Northern and Central Europe, including family offices, pension funds, and corporate treasuries. With fifteen years of experience in institutional sales at global asset managers, he translates complex strategies into clear, board-ready narratives that accelerate genuine understanding.
Saoirse Brennan
Head of Compliance & Regulatory Affairs
Saoirse joined Melanion from the AMF itself, where she spent seven years reviewing asset management applications and fund structures. At Melanion, she ensures that every product and client engagement meets the highest standards of regulatory integrity — and that the firm is always ahead of evolving digital asset regulation across the EU.
Damien Osei
Head of Research & Digital Asset Strategy
Damien leads Melanion's research function, producing the in-depth analysis that underpins every investment decision and client communication. His work spans Bitcoin on-chain analytics, macro monetary theory, and equity valuation of crypto-sector companies. He previously published academic research on monetary systems at the Paris School of Economics.
